Largest and heaviest unit we've installed, as of Oct, 2026. 126" long, including a 50" rear extension. We also had to remove patio stones on the foundation and add 4" cap cinderblocks. This install, Sept 2026, in Ridgewood, NJ illustrates how we handle James Hardie siding. We marked an exact cut, and slipped the frame under the cut. Sealed it with GeoCell. Unit is a one-panel, hinged to the outside, to maximize width of the inside opening.
Same job as above. We made the side of a flat unit water-tight. First, we score the sloped cement to insert the one-inch downturn flange of the unit. Second, we fill the gap with hydraulic anchor cement. Third, we finish the cement smooth, and do a final industrial glazing (it's NOT paint, it's more like the glazing on a steel bathtub).
Standard flat Gordon RD-3 unit with our custom glazing in Wayne County, PA (Poconos). We had to use PT wood covered with PVC. The Gordon frame is too thin and wobbly to install without a lock washer. Gordon does not provide it.

An exciting development. Glazed Cellar Doors is now pre-assembling all KD (boxed) standard size units. In addition to the stainless steel nuts and bolts, we are using an industrial-grade sealant. The KD-O, KD-B, KD-C, and KD-SL units will now install with the rigidity of a fully-welded unit. The first install (shown here) is a KD-B unit with "Warm Stone" glazing for a customer in Mendham, Morris County.
Custom Flat Unit in Monmouth County. Found rotten wood under the siding. Installed a new pressure-treated header. Cut a groove in the slope to accept a 1" downturn flange on the custom unit. Unglazed unit shown, before siding restoration.
Perfect measure on tight opening in Netcong, Morris County, NJ. Aug 2, 2026. Made front foundation 4" higher to prevent backwash down the stairs. Flat Unit is installed on double pressure-treated 2x6's (mounted vertical), with PVC on top so there is no exposed wood.

Very difficult flat Steelway in Freehold, NJ, because the existing opening was too narrow. We notched the left masonry for hinge clearance to save 3". We then ordered the custom unit to have an inside width of 30" instead of 27". Note that 28" is needed for a washer or dryer. Nov 21, 2025. Software glaze color.
New inside and outside stairs for customer in Monroe County, PA. The cellar door is a custom Steelway glazed in Rustic Red.
Made a standard-size Gordon RD3 fit by placing a PT 2x8 across the top, and that saved a good $1,000 over a custom Steelway. Light beige glazing. Port Murray, Warren County, NJ Sept 2025

Custom flat Steelway on a historic mansion outside of Princeton, NJ, circa 1690 construction. Lots of geocell to prevent leaks. The British Army used the house as a hospital after their loss in the Battle of Princeton. Installed Sept. 21, 2026
